About the event
Pianist and composer Raúl Murciano, Jr., a founding member and musical director of Miami Sound Machine, brings an intimate, stripped-down performance to the Cultural Caravan, joined by a hand-selected ensemble of top Latin musicians from across the country.
For this special concert, Murciano presents a personal and story-driven take on Cuban and Latin American music, blending his distinctive piano style, rich harmonies, and the Afro-Cuban rhythms that have shaped his career.
With decades of experience spanning touring, composing, producing, and teaching, Murciano has worked across genres—from Latin jazz to orchestral music and film scores. A longtime professor at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, his deep connection to Latin music traditions informs both his performance and storytelling.
This concert offers a rare opportunity to experience Murciano’s artistry in a setting that strips the music to its essence—intimate, vibrant, and deeply expressive.
