About the event
Ties That Bind
featuring Victor Mestas, Rafael Greco, Gustavo Caruci, and Alejandro Castaño
Jazz pianist Victor Mestas—a Cultural Caravan favorite since 2021—reunites with his closest musical collaborators, guitarist Gustavo Caruci and saxophonist Rafael Greco, for the first time in years. The three musicians met as kids in Venezuela, and their deep musical bond shines through in every note.
Each time Victor joins the Caravan, he brings something new, and this time is no different. Together with Gustavo and Rafael—two multidisciplinary artists who, like Victor, defy categorization—he presents a program that spans his wide-ranging musical curiosities and pushes the boundaries of genre and technique. Rounding out the ensemble are Alejandro Castaño on drums and Josh Halpern on cello, adding depth to this dynamic reunion.
This programming is generously underwritten by Michele & Mike Ritter and Nicky Wolman & David Fulker.
