The Cultural Caravan will be Artist-in-Residence at the Boulder Public Library's Canyon Theater in 2023! This partnership is made possible by the Boulder Library Foundation.
As a hub in the center of Boulder, the Boulder Public Library's mission of connecting people, ideas, and information to transform lives and strengthen our community is a perfect fit for the Cultural Caravan's future vision.
"We’ve partnered with the Boulder Library Foundation to bring music to their beautiful Canyon Theater for the first time since before the pandemic. We’re proud to make our MainStage home in such a dynamic space so centrally located, accessible by public transit, and welcome and free to everyone." – Josh Halpern
The Boulder Library Foundation
The Boulder Library Foundation supports the Boulder Public Library and its mission to provide access to information, knowledge, and inspiration for all members of the community. Within the main library branch, the Canyon Theater performance space is used for a variety of events, including concerts, lectures, and film screenings, but has remained dormant for the past 3 years.
This new partnership will bring free Cultural Caravan MainStage performances to the Canyon Theater throughout Spring 2023. This will provide the Boulder community access to diverse musical programs performed by artists spanning all genres, from Venezuelan Jazz to Bluegrass to Zimbabwean Afropop. Cultural Caravan musicians will also present pop-up concerts and educational programs throughout Boulder County.
The first MainStage concert at the Canyon Theater features bassist Gonzalo Teppa with world-renowned Venezuelan artists including Jorge Glem, Daniel Prim, Manuel Rojas, and Nathasha Bravo. Tickets are free, thanks to generous support from organizational sponsors and individual donors.
The Cultural Caravan is thrilled to partner with the Boulder Library Foundation and looks forward to sharing music with the Boulder community. We hope to see you at the Canyon Theater for an unforgettable performance soon!
